Jeanette Peña joined the National Health Foundation’s CHAMP training team in December, 2008. As a Program and Education Specialist, Jeanette empowers individuals and families to access federal and state healthcare coverage programs by providing informative educational sessions to organizations and community groups. Prior to NHF, Jeanette worked as a Children’s Social Worker for Los Angeles County ensuring the health, safety and well-being of children and youth and has over 8 years of experience in the field of social and human services. She has seen first-hand the impact that a lack of resources has on individuals, families and the community. Her passion for helping underserved populations led her to join NHF to help bridge the gaps in health care. Jeanette holds a degree in Psychology from California State University, Los Angeles and is also an advocate for the safe treatment of animals. She enjoys spending time with family and her two canine friends (Buddy and Sasha). |
