Third Annual Southern California Conference for Certified Application Assistors (CAAs) and Health Advocates: Assistors Learning Together
The Southern California Partnership of Healthcare Advocates is a collaboration of advocates from seven southern California counties; Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura, Imperial and San Diego. Each year, participating agencies from throughout Southern California come together to fundraise and plan an annual conference for Certified Applications Assistors, Community Health Workers, Promotoras, Healthcare Advocates and many more in our communities that play a vital role in increasing enrollment, utilization, and retention for families in various health coverage programs. Statistics have consistently shown that applications for health coverage programs submitted with assistance have a significantly higher enrollment success rate than those submitted without. The goal of the conference is to provide a venue for Assistors and Advocates to share best practices and strategies and to provide skill-building opportunities that will enhance statewide efforts to enroll and retain children in health coverage programs.
As participating agencies, National Health Foundation along with Community Health Councils and the Long Beach Heath and Human Services has teamed to take the lead on planning this year’s conference which will be held in Los Angeles County at the Long Beach Convention Center on Friday, August 4, 2006.
