| Gwen C. Edwards recently founded Global Communications Enterprises, a business strategy and advisory firm dedicated to the growth and development of emerging companies and effective partnering with Fortune 500. She is an executive with over 28 years experience both national and international, and most recently was the CEO of Middlewire, an early stage company developing new content delivery methods for carrier networks.
Prior to joining Middlewire, she was President of Pacific Bell Network Integration, a $400M high growth business unit of Pacific Bell/SBC Communications, designing and delivering enterprise wide customer networks. Gwen joined the NHF board as the leader of Pacific Bell’s Health Care Market Group, an organization she established in 1993, and grew to a $200M dollar business over 5 years, focused exclusively on the needs of the Health Care and Biotech industries. The health care market focus followed the success of new programs she previously launched for Pacific Bell’s National Accounts organization.
Gwen began her career with Stanford Research Institute in the Telecommunications Sciences Center in 1973, and then progressed through Bell Canada and Nortel Networks. She is known for fostering innovation and building unstoppable teams with the right mix of business development, sales, and executive leadership skills. Her long-standing personal interest in the issues of health care delivery, and the use of technology to enable more cost effective care keep her active in NHF.
She holds an MBA from Pepperdine University’s Presidential and Key Executive Program, an MA degree from California State University, and a BA from the University of California. |
